Dr. Iona Chapman, MD, FAAD, FACMS

Iona Chapman Iona Chapman MD was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She pursued undergraduate studies in biology and dance at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City, graduating summa cum laude. Dr. Chapman then attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center where her academic achievements led to her inclusion in the Alpha Omega Alpha society. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. Dr. Chapman's interest in cutaneous surgery then led her to a fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, studying under the leadership of Dr. Conway Huang and Dr. Blake Phillips. Upon completion of her training, she established a successful Mohs surgical clinic at a private practice in Houston, TX.


Dr. Chapman is thrilled to return home. She offers patients the precision of Mohs surgery to remove skin cancers and her extensive training in reconstruction enables her to close wounds in such a way as to minimize scarring. Dr. Chapman is passionate about educating patients about the prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer. She values collaborating with patients to create personalized treatment plans and looks forward to meeting you!
