Dr. Ortiz is a licensed physician and surgeon in the state of New Mexico, Board Certified as a Diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. Dr. Ortiz is dedicated to caring for the skin of patients of all ages and has a special interest in skin cancer treatment and prevention. She has shared her knowledge and expertise with other physicians through various educational presentations regarding common diseases of the skin and skin cancers, including several scientific presentations at national conferences.
Dr. Ortiz graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of New Mexico with a degree in biology and psychology. She went on to attend the University of New Mexico medical school and, again, graduated at the top of her class. She received extensive training in dermatology at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Arizona, where she completed her residency. After residency, she returned to New Mexico and practices dermatology with a special emphasis on skin cancer treatment and prevention.
Dr. Ortiz is a member of the Mayo Clinic O’Leary Society, which is dedicated to professionalism, integrity, and patient care. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology and New Mexico Dermatologic Society. Through continuing medical education, she is constantly updating her knowledge of the skin and its care.
